Finally we have started on the beds. I assigned each child a bed to work for the summer. Right now we are just turning over the soil. My tomatoes and peppers are already to go in the ground. I did not get a deer fence this year, so I have decided to fence each bed individually. That should work for now.

Jennie, those will be great. I am thinking we may need to build some raised beds. As I get older the ground is getting further and further down. LOL I think giving each child a bed to be responsible for is a great idea. I hope you continue to share pictures as things grow. Have a good evening. Winona
Thanks, Winona. Dave and Jonathan built them last year. I had a fence around the whole thing, but it was unsightly, so we took it down. I will keep up the pictures.

jen, what a great idea to give each child a bed to care for... a good idea on so many levels! my flower beds are horrifying! i need to get to them this weekend, but i have a shower to go to(and a gift to sew!), plus all of the sunday stuff to do. it is hard to make time for everything.. i need to take a leaf from your book, my dear♥
Good morning Jennie! I have a daughter who is also named Jennie! I really like your site! I am a homeschooling mom and live in Indiana. I found your site by clicking on my profile that states "Any books by Beverly Lewis" and found you! Then I meant to click on your blog and I clicked on the blog that you are following (something about being simple...) Now I love both blogs! It is so much fun to find people that have so many interests that are in common with me! I just planted a lot of tomato plants and then went to the Salvation Army and bought more canning jars on their half off day! I was really blessed! I am just learning this blogging thing and need to have one of my kids or hubby show me how to add pictures! Please come and visit me...I promise my blog will get better with time and ideas and pictures! We're off to a living outdoor museum in Fishers Indiana today to finish out the school year. (and to get ideas for a 4H project!)
Love in Christ, your new friend, Beth! :)
Diane,
I could not get it all done without my great helpers especially Jonathan. Hopefully the skies will clear today, and we can get a little more digging done. It is a busy day, and I might not get to mine either. Have a great weekend.
Beth,
Thank you for your kind words. Great job on those canning jars. I look forward to visiting with you more.
Jennie
